FUJITSU ADVANCED ENGINEERING LIMITED (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) has developed a system that allows users to remotely control picking robots as if they were playing a game, and to sort bulk goods that are difficult to recognize automatically. The robot's field of vision is displayed on a tablet terminal, and when the user clicks on an item, the robot picks it up and picks it. The company aims to commercialize the system in fiscal 2021. The operator clicks on products on a tablet or other device according to instructions. Then, robots in distribution warehouses and factories aim at the click point and suck the suction cup. The system is expected to be used not only by telecommuters but also for light work during hospitalization and cognitive training for the elderly. The Okinawa Industrial Association (Naha City, Okinawa, 098-859-6191, Chairman Noboru Kohatsu, Chairman of Takunan Iron & Steel) promoted industrial robots through a hands-on event for children. In this game, children faced a cooperative twin-armed robot and arranged 10 pieces in a row. The game started with a nod from the robot's "head," and the children competed for speed with all their might. There have been few cases of robots being introduced in Okinawa, so the youth division of the association held this event at the "Okinawa Industry Festival" exhibition with the aim of promoting the spread of robots and understanding of manufacturing.
